The XR-2500A system consists
of a transmitter, receiver, and signal processing circuitry that is compatible
with conventional 1.544 Mb/sec T-1 telephone related signals. The unit
uses linear modulation throughout as well as a signal regeneration scheme
that allows excellent transmission of even distorted input T-1 signals.
Input and output transformers assure correct line matching. Integral
LEDs and a loss of signal alarm are also provided to give a continuous indication
of the presence of signals and proper operation of the units. In addition,
built in regulators allow operation from unregulated AC or DC sources thereby
providing unparalleled versatility in a fiber optic transmission system.
