ACCURATE DC LEVEL FIBER OPTIC TRANSMISSION
USING A/D AND D/A CONVERSION TECHNIQUES

The Fiberlink XA/RA-1400A system, consisting of the XA-1400A transmitter and RA-1400A receiver,
uses A/D and D/A converters to accommodate DC level signals with a high degree of accuracy. Since
the method of transmission is purely digital, cable length has virtually no effect on linearity, nor does
LED aging or deterioration of splices and connectors. The XA-1400A and RA-1400A are supplied with
integral indicator LEDs that indicate the presence of signals and proper operation of the system. In
addition, built-in regulated power supplies allow operation from batteries or unregulated AC or DC sources.
